Additional fees may be applied depending on the location, generally around 3% of your bill. You can also withdraw money from numerous ATMs in the cities you visit. However, in rural or mountainous areas, make sure to carry local currency in cash.

Starting from June 18, 2015, the Vietnamese government adopted a resolution to exempt visa requirements for citizens of five European countries: England, Germany, Spain, Italy, and France, for stays not exceeding 15 days. For stays longer than 15 days, a visa is required. This new regulation is in effect for a five-year period, from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2019, and may be renewed according to Vietnamese law.

Travel insurance covers hospital and medical expenses, medical evacuation, and expenses resulting from unexpected accidents or illnesses that occur during the trip.

  1. DO I NEED VACCINATIONS BEFORE TRAVELING?

Vietnamese authorities do not officially require vaccinations. However, it is advisable to be vaccinated against cholera, hepatitis, typhoid, tetanus, polio, and Japanese encephalitis. We recommend consulting your doctor for additional medical advice. Also, bring mosquito repellent. It is recommended to wear long-sleeved shirts and pants from dusk and to avoid using perfumes. Make sure to bring an adequate supply of any medications you take, along with a copy of your prescription. Bring medications for headaches, gastrointestinal issues, insect bites, sore throats, cuts, and eye drops, among others. Medical standards, except in Hanoi and Saigon, Siem Reap, and Luang Prabang, are lower than those in Western countries.
