Grandaughter Sarah and I in Vietnam and Cambodia

My granddaughter Sarah (16) and I had our first trip together. Thanks to Emma’s support and the program we travelled from Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay, by train to Hoi An for an unforgettable 3 days of cycling, enjoying the lantern festival on full moon, visiting the tailor, and generally relaxing in very comfortable accommodation with great support from the staff.
We then headed south to Ho Chi Min City by train, experiencing the beautiful scenery all the way. In Ho Chi Min we did the tours of the delta and the tunnels. It was awesome to hear the guides explain the local’s view of the social views of the time, across the areas we travelled. We then took the bus across to Phnom Penh, then to Siem Reap, and Angkor Wat.
We enjoyed meeting the locals as well as other tourists along the way.
