The validity period of the electronic visa will be extended from 30 to 90 days, in accordance with texts recently approved by the National Assembly during its 5th session.
The National Assembly has decided to extend the duration of the electronic visa (e-visa) from 30 days to 90 days, valid for multiple entries, and increase the duration of temporary stay at the border gate for visa-free entry from 15 days to 45 days.
The National Assembly’s Standing Committee stated that the law has extended the e-visa duration to 90 days, valid for single or multiple entries, to meet the needs of international tourists and create favorable conditions for foreigners engaged in research, market research, investment promotion, and business expansion, especially when it is necessary to visit multiple countries in the region and return to Vietnam to assess and compare investment and business expansion potential in Vietnam.
The National Assembly’s Standing Committee has instructed the drafting agency to complete the document and send it to the National Assembly as a draft resolution on the list of countries and territories whose citizens are eligible for e-visas and the list of international border gates through which foreigners can enter and exit using e-visas. Once the law is adopted and comes into effect, the government will issue a resolution to promptly implement it in practice.
This law will come into effect on August 15, 2023.
