Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in this UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its cultural and architectural significance. After a short rest, take a leisurely stroll to immerse yourself in the charm of this ancient city. In the late afternoon, partake in a private Baci ceremony, a profound Lao ritual offering deep insights into the local culture. This will be followed by a dinner with your host family, providing an authentic start to your exploration of Laos’ rich culture.

After breakfast, embark on a guided walking tour of Luang Prabang, exploring its lesser-known lanes and discovering four UNESCO-classified architectural styles. In the afternoon, visit key city center attractions like Wat Sene and the stunning Wat Xiengthong. Explore the Royal Palace Museum, then enjoy a romantic Mekong River sunset cruise with dinner served on board. Witness the sky’s vibrant sunset hues while cruising past local villages, immersing yourself in the serene river life.

After breakfast, embark on a serene Mekong River cruise upstream to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, a 16th-century cave monastery brimming with thousands of Buddha images. Along the way, visit Ban Muang Keo, known for traditional Lao rice whisky distillation. Return to Luang Prabang and journey downstream to Ban Chan Village, where you’ll engage in pottery making, crafting your unique souvenir with traditional techniques. Explore the village’s history and visit the pottery center, kiln, and brick factory. Your finished pottery will be delivered to your hotel within 3-7 days, weather permitting. Savor a traditional Laos meal on a picturesque patio before returning to Luang Prabang. The remainder of the day is free for your own exploration.

At sunrise, engage in the sacred tradition of morning almsgiving as over 200 Buddhist monks collect meals from residents. Visit the bustling morning market near the former Royal Palace, then ascend Phousi Hill for panoramic city and Mekong River views. If time allows, explore the UXO Visitor Center for insight into Laos’ secret war. Next, head to the magnificent Kuang Si Waterfall, the largest in the Luang Prabang area, boasting azure pools and hidden waterfalls in nearby Ban Thapene village. Optionally, visit the Bear Rescue Center. After Kuang Si, indulge in afternoon tea amidst colorful butterflies at the Butterflies Park. On the return journey, stop by the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where artisans create top-quality fabrics. Transfer back to your hotel in the late afternoon.

We’ll pick you up and head to Xieng Lom village. After a brief introduction to elephant behavior, take a boat ride across the Nam Khan River to meet and feed the elephants. Observe elephants bathing in the river. Then, embark on a 2-hour journey through Lao gardens to the jungle-covered Huay Nok stream, walking alongside the elephants. Return to MandaLao, say goodbye to the elephants, and enjoy a fresh Lao meal with organic produce. After lunch, explore the camp and visit the nearby Chateau Orientale for relaxation amid the Laotian jungle.
